The Jimmy Ryce Center for Victims of Predatory Abduction is an organization that raises awareness about the plight of missing children, victims’ rights and violence. Jimmy Ryce was abducted and murdered in 1995 while walking home from school. He was only 9 years old.
The organization actively raises funds to donate bloodhounds to law enforcement agencies. According to reports, a bloodhound has 60 times the scent power of a German shepherd and is the only dog that can follow a human trail more than a few hours old.
Joker Media developed a website that allowed visitors to learn more about Jimmy and the organization, see images in various galleries, and learn tips to help children stay safe. Further, the website allows for various types of donations and allows law enforcement agencies to fill out a very detailed form in requesting a Bloodhound for their department.
Josh and Joker Media came to the rescue of the Jimmy Ryce Center by helping build a new website, JimmyRyce.org . A non-profit organization, the main mission of the Jimmy Ryce Center is to donate AKC purebred bloodhound puppies to law enforcement agencies to assist in the tracking of missing and endangered children and adults. The original website was built on a very old platform, which required an inordinate amount of time just to add one item. All additions and layouts were done manually. Joker Media upgraded us to a WordPress – which is more responsive, colorful and easy to use. They did the new layout quickly and were constantly in contact as we designed the website. Josh and the team at Joker Media were excellent to work with, and we will recommend them to anyone looking to design or upgrade a website.
